Sumire Sato is known in her native Japan as simply Sumire, an actress, model, and fashion designer. Her dad is also a famous actor, Tadanobu Asano, and her mom is a famous singer who goes by the name of Chara—if you’re in the know about Japanese pop culture. Sumire captured the public’s attention when she appeared in one of her mom’s music videos, and also graced the cover of her album Jewel. The Junoesque Japanese knockout was attending fashion college when the she was signed by the magazine Soen to be an exclusive model for them. She made her acting debut as the character Su in the film Tourism (2017), about two girls who have dramatic times in Singapore. She followed that performance with one as Kozue Yoshikawa in the movie Ribâzu ejji (2018), aka River’s Edge—the Japanese version of the 1986 American movie of the same name, starring Crispin Glover and Keanu Reeves. In the flick, a wide-eyed Sumire is given a gentle, but very long kiss by a female friend. The starlet then went on to earn the leading role of Yoshika Asada in the TV series Aku No Hado: Satsujin Bunsekihan, aka Evil’s Wave, in 2019; and one as Umesato in the series Haru to Ao no Obentou-Bako in 2020, which loosely translates to Spring and Blue Lunch Box. The starlet added a little romance to her resume with the movie Mellow (2020), and some fantasy adventure with Yokai Daisenso Gâdianzu (2021), aka The Great Yokai War: Guardians. Sumire then added another title to her Skin Central page with the role of Sue in the film We Couldn’t Become Adults (2021).
